Polysilazane resins(organopolysilazanes) are a class of polymers with backbones consisting of alternating silicon and nitrogen atoms, where silicon atoms bear organic substituents. Polysilazane resins feature excellent thermal stability and oxidation resistance, and can be converted into ceramic phases such as Si₃N₄ and SiCN at high temperatures, serving as ceramic precursors. Polysilazane resins are widely applied in ceramic coatings, fiber impregnation and composite matrixes, enabling low-temperature shaping followed by high-temperature ceramization.
Organopolysilazane is a polymer ceramic precursor. After high-temperature ceramization, it forms SiCN or Si₃N₄ ceramic layers.
It is widely used for high-temperature protective coatings, fiber impregnation for ceramic matrix composites, anti-oxidation barrier layers, and sealants for high-heat components. It can also serve as raw material for ceramic micro-parts.
Ceramization atmosphere: Pick air-stable grades if processing in air; choose inert-atmosphere types for pure SiCN ceramics under nitrogen/argon.
Solid content & viscosity: Low viscosity suits dip-coating and fiber infiltration; higher solid content is preferred for thick coatings.
Thermal requirement: Select grades matched to your target ceramization temperature and final heat-resistance demand.
Side groups: Different organic substituents affect shelf life, reactivity and shrinkage during pyrolysis.
